ロンドンのセントラル・セント・マーチンズおよびニューヨークのプラット・インスティテュートでファインアートを学んだ、イギリス人アーティスト、映画監督、キュレーター。ロンドン出身で、現在はメキシコを拠点に活動している。絵画や版画を通じて、死生観・憂愁・愛、そして人工知能と人間の未来を探求している。
2022年にメキシコシティで「POST HUMAN」展をキュレーションし作家としても参加。国際的な現代アーティストの作品を集めたグローバルなグループ展シリーズの第一弾として始まり、現在第8回を数え、メキシコシティ、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、ロンドンで開催されている。
2024年には、寺田倉庫BONDED GALLERYで開催されたグループ展「ART CONNECT」に出展。彼の作品はForbes、Financial Times、Condé Nast、The Guardian、Vogue、Marvin、Marie Claire、Nowness、AnOther、Studio Internationalなどに掲載されている。

本展では、メキシコ・プエブラでのレジデンシー中に制作した絵画とプリントの新シリーズを発表する。絵画はミニマルな造形と力強い筆致が特徴で、生のキャンバスにモノクロームの色彩がにじみ広がり、具象的な形体はやがて抽象的で幻想的な存在へと変容していく。また、エッチングやモノタイプといった伝統的な版画技法を用いた、親密感あふれる現代的な作品も手がけている。
死生観・憂愁・愛といった概念を探求し、人工知能とこの新しい世界における人間の未来をテーマに作品を制作している。

A British artist, filmmaker, and curator who studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London and Pratt Institute in New York. Born in London and currently based in Mexico, his work explores themes of mortality, melancholy, love, and the future of artificial intelligence and humanity through painting and printmaking.
In 2022, he curated and participated as an artist in the exhibition POST HUMAN in Mexico City. Originally launched as the first installment of a global group exhibition series bringing together works by international contemporary artists, the exhibition has since expanded to its eighth edition, with shows held in Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York, and London.
In 2024, he participated in the group exhibition ART CONNECT held at BONDED GALLERY by Terada Warehouse. His work has been featured in publications including Forbes, Financial Times, Condé Nast, The Guardian, Vogue, Marie Claire, Nowness, AnOther, and Studio International.

Tobias presents a new series of paintings and prints, produced whilst on his residency in Puebla, Mexico. The paintings are defined by dynamic minimalist forms and expressive brush work, containing fields of washed-out and bleeding monochromatic colour on raw canvas. These figurative shapes become abstract, ethereal and uncanny. He also experiments with traditional printmaking techniques, such as etching and monotype, to create raw and intimate, contemporary vignettes.

The artist explores notions of mortality, melancholy and love.  He discusses themes of artificial intelligence and the future of our place in this new world.  These emotional experiences are rendered as both powerful and vulnerable.
