2020年東京藝術大学大学院修了

人間を肉体や属性によって互いに隔てられた存在として捉え、自己と他者の距離や軋轢を主題に制作してきた。制作は、他者との関係を結び直す架け橋であり、生き延びるためのケアでもある。同時に、自身の身体や属性が世界の構造のなかでどのように位置づけられているのかを見つめ直す行為でもある。

宗教、ジェンダー、死、身体、家族、食事などを手がかりに、共同体とケアを扱う。転写技法による平面作品を主軸に、インスタレーション、パフォーマンス、ワークショップも展開する。女性身体に付与されるスティグマと絵画史の眼差しを扱う《Transition》、男性中心の語りのなかで「女の罪」を負わされてきた女性像とその連帯を扱う《九相図》《手を添える》、葬送と共食を通じて他者を体内化する身体性を扱う《口腔間距離》、墓や骨壺を想起させる《Grave》、祖母の衣服をまとうことで家族史と相続、死者の気配をたどる《セルフポートレート：祖母の服を着た》などを発表している。

近年は、食べること、弔うこと、触れることを通じて、隔てられた身体がどのように他者を受け入れ、関係を結び直すのかを探っている。私的な記憶を起点に、家族、制度、信仰、ジェンダーの問題へと接続し、個人の身体に刻まれた歴史と社会構造を読み解こうとしている。

Born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, in 1993.

Completed an MFA at Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2018, and an MFA at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020.

I have approached human beings as beings separated from one another by their physical bodies and attributes, and have developed works that explore the distance and friction between the self and the other. For me, artistic practice is a bridge through which relationships with others may be re-established, and a form of care necessary for survival. At the same time, it is an act of re-examining how my own body and attributes are situated within the structures of the world.

Taking religion, gender, death, the body, family and food as points of reference, I explore themes of community and care. Whilst my practice is centred on two-dimensional works created through transfer-based techniques, it also extends to installation, performance and workshops.

Key works include the *Transition* series, which addresses the stigma attached to the female body and the gaze of art history; *Kusōzu*, which examines female figures made to bear the burden of “women’s sin” within male-centred narratives, drawing on the Nine Stages of Decay, Ono no Komachi and Mary Magdalene; *Oral Distance*, which explores the corporeality of internalising others through mourning and communal eating; *Grave*, which evokes graves and urns; and *Self-Portrait: Wearing My Grandmother’s Clothes*, a work grounded in personal memory, inheritance and the lingering presence of my grandmother.

In recent years, my practice has focused on eating, mourning, touching and offering as bodily acts through which separated bodies may receive the other and reconfigure their relationships. Beginning with private memory and family history, I connect intimate experiences to broader questions of family, institutions, faith, gender and social structures.
