廃棄衣類を主な素材として、空想の生き物である「もけもけもの」、また、それらを用いたインスタレーションや写真作品などを発表し、ぬいぐるみや人形、彫刻などの立体造形の概念を横断する創作形態に取り組んでいる。
「もけもけもの」とは、使われなくなった衣類を素材に、動物や人体のパーツなどをつくり、それらを繋ぎ合わせる事で生まれる空想の生き物である。「もののけ」と「 けもの」から「もけもけもの」という言葉が生まれた。
彼らは、個々の存在や成り立ち、他者や自身を取り巻く環境との関係性など、不確かな自身の存在に対し常に答えを求め続ける私たちの分身のようでもある。その姿かたちには、動物の造形を借りているが、それらの仕草や佇まいには、どこか人間らしい存在感を宿している。それは、彼らを通して私たち自身を見つめることができるのではないかと考えているからだ。
素材として用いる、使われなくなった衣類とは、身につける人と日常を共にし、あらゆる出来事や思い出を経験蓄積している存在であり、同時に死者のメタファーでもあると考えている。そのような衣類が「手縫い」という時間と労力を伴うプロセスを経て再び生まれ変わる過程は、ある種の儀式や、祈りのような行為でもあると考えている。そのようにして生まれた作品達は、生と死のどちらともを経験している存在、また、時に双方を自由自在に行き来し、それらがどのようなものであるかを私達に教えてくれる伝達者のようである。
古来より、縫い目には呪力が宿るとされている。「縫う」という行為によって表現するということは、私達自身の存在を探り、様々なものとの繋がりを見つける事であると考えている。

Using discarded clothing as her primary material, she creates and presents “Mokemokemono,” imagined creatures that appear in her installations and photographic works. Her practice traverses the boundaries between plush toys, dolls, and sculpture, exploring the conceptual intersections of these three-dimensional forms.

“Mokemokemono” are fantastical beings born from used garments, formed by crafting animal and human body parts and then stitching them together. The name derives from the Japanese words mononoke (spirit) and kemono (beast).
Although borrowing their shapes from animals, these creatures display gestures and presences that feel distinctly human—serving as reflections of ourselves, continuously seeking answers to the uncertainties of our own existence, origins, and relationships with others and our surroundings.

For the artist, discarded clothing carries the memory of the wearer—their daily life, experiences, and emotions—and simultaneously serves as a metaphor for the deceased. Through the slow, labor-intensive act of hand-stitching, these garments are reborn, a process she regards as both ritualistic and prayer-like.
The resulting works exist between life and death, at times moving freely between the two realms, acting as mediators that remind us of their interconnectedness.

Since ancient times, it has been believed that stitches hold a form of spiritual power. For the artist, the act of “sewing” is not merely a means of expression, but an intimate exploration of existence itself—a way of tracing and reconnecting the bonds that link us to all things.
