増田将大の作品は、対象となる何気ない風景を撮影し、その画像をプロジェクターで同じ場所に投影。再び同じ視点で撮影するというプロセスを複数回くり返し、さらにそれをキャンバスの上にシルクスクリーンで刷ることで、多数の図像と絵の具の重なり、掠れを孕んだイメージを映し出します。
増田は、幼少期に鑑賞した SF やホラー映画での体験を下地に、現実と虚構を画面に定着させ、時間を視覚化した作品を生みだしてきました。我々の生きている時間は、一瞬一瞬が連続する映画フィルムのように連なり、形づくっているのではと想起しています。
このカメラとプロジェクターを用いたイメージの重なりとズレは、絶対的な一つの視点など存在せず複数人の観客が存在し、多くの瞳に多様な写り方をするように、一つのイメージもまた複数存在していることを示唆しています。

To create his works, Masahiro Masuda photographs an ordinary landscape, then projects the image onto the place where he first photographed it before capturing the subject again, repeating this process multiple times. By printing the finished result onto can vas using silkscreen printing, the multiple images and layers of ink produce a subtly distorted image.
Grounded in the experience of watching science fiction and horror films in his childhood, Masuda has created works that fix reality and fiction on the screen and visualize time.
The time in which we live is layered and shaped like a motion-picture film of a sequence of moments.
This overlapping and blurring of images using a camera and a projector suggests that one image exists in plurality, in the same way that no one single, absolute viewpoint exists, but multiple spectators exist and images are reflected in diverse ways in many people’ s eyes.
