谷敷謙は、木目込みという日本固有のテキスタイルの技術をペインティングの手法として捉え直し、
新しい絵画表現の実施をしています。江戸時代にルーツを持ち、寺社建築の端材を人形に用いることで
生まれた木目込みを、谷敷は自身の経験をベースにしながら再解釈し、使用する素材を古着や廃材に絞り、
元々の持ち主に由来する身体性、時間、生の感覚、そして素材となる古着が元来そなえていたブランド
コンセプトを汲み取り、絵画という形態に置換しながら語り継ぎ、それと同時に祈りや願いを込める
という木目込みや伝統工芸の特有の文化や価値を現代へとリプレイスしています。
これまでの主な個展に「FLOW & CONNECT」 (hiro okamoto gallery 2022,東京),
「PAUSE」(渋谷リビング,2021,東京)、「touch point」(京都ワコールスタディ
ホール,2021,京都)があり、また主なグループ展として「手で創る-森英恵と若いアーティスト達-」(水戸
芸術館,2009,茨城)、「section」(spiral hall,2021,東京)等に参加してきました。

Ken Yasihki reconsidered Kimekomi, a textile technique unique to Japan, as a painting method.
We are implementing new pictorial expressions. Having roots in the Edo period, by using scraps of temple and shrine
architecture for dolls
Yashiki reinterpreted the born wood grain based on his own experience, narrowing down the materials used to used
clothing and waste materials.
A brand that originally had the physicality, time, sense of life, and used clothing that was the material of the original
owner.
Take the concept, replace it with the form of painting, and talk about it, and at the same time put in prayers and
wishes.
We are replacing the unique culture and values of Kimekomi and traditional crafts with the present age.
Major solo exhibitions so far include “FLOW & CONNECT”(hiro okamoto gallery,2022,tokyo)
“”PAUSE”” (Shibuya Living, 2021, Tokyo) and “”touch point”” (Kyoto Wacoal Study)
There is a hall (2021, Kyoto), and the main group exhibition is “”Creating by Hand-Hanae Mori and Young
Artists-“” (Mito).
I have participated in the art museum (2009, Ibaraki), “”section”” (spiral hall, 2021, Tokyo), etc.
