1991年 岐阜県出身、東京在住。8歳より書道を始める。東京学芸大学書道専攻卒業。
書家として活動する中で「自分らしい表現とは何か」と考えるようになり、 書道で培ってきた技術や感覚を活かした新たな表現を探求している。 「書く」の語源は、「掻く」に由来するとされ、かつては土・木・石などを引っ掻き、痕をつけて記したことから「かく」が文字や模様などを記す意味となった、といわれている。このことから、痕跡を残すということに意識を向け、様々な視点から「かくこと」と向き合い制作をしている。 今回展示している「生きる」シリーズは、「生」の文字を象形文字や様々な書体で書き重ねている。書道では、墨の濃淡などで文字に立体感を出すが、 文字を立体物として画面上に存在させようと試みた。書道における筆の上下運動や緩急といった 「文字を書く」という動作によってできた凹凸は、 「描く」という動作によってできた凹凸とは 異なったものになるのではないかと考える。さらに文字を書く動作の中に、自分の感情、思いなどが入る。その感情の動きを痕跡として残していきたい。 「生きる」とは何か、また自身の「生」について 考えるきっかけとなってくれたらと思う。

Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1991 and bases in Tokyo, Japan. started calligraphy at the age of 8. Graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University, majoring in calligraphy.
While working as a calligrapher, she began to think about “”what is the expression that is unique to me,”” and has been exploring new forms of expression that utilize the techniques and sensibilities she has cultivated in calligraphy. The word “”writing”” is said to have originated from “”scratch.”” In the past, people scratched soil, wood, and stone to make marks on them and write them down, and “”kaku”” came to mean writing letters and patterns on them. From this idea, he has been conscious of leaving traces, and has been creating works by confronting “”kaku-ing”” from various perspectives. In the “”Ikiru”” series exhibited in this exhibition, he writes the character for “”life”” over and over in hieroglyphs and various calligraphic styles. In calligraphy, the letters are given a three-dimensional effect by the shading of the ink, and the artist attempted to make the letters exist as three-dimensional objects on the canvas. We believe that the unevenness created by the action of “”writing”” in calligraphy, such as the up-and-down movement of the brush and the slow and rapid movements of the brush, may be different from the unevenness created by the action of “”drawing””. In addition, the act of writing involves one’s emotions and thoughts. We would like to leave traces of these emotional movements. I hope that this will trigger your thinking about what it means to “”live”” and about your own “”life.””
