2002武蔵野美術大学造形学部工芸工業デザイン科金工専攻卒業

手元にある材料からステレオタイプな「物」を作りだしたり、レディメイドのモノに全く別種の要素を付け加えることで「記号」としての意味が現れてくる。
物と物をパズルのように組み合わせることで本来の物が持つ機能や意味をずらし、新たな意味を生じさせる手腕に驚かされる。
芽の生えた家具やボルダリングと石庭を掛け合わせたインスタレーションなどスケールも様々だ。

コロコロコミックを子供にとっての知識の塊として捉え、カラフルなページが積み重なり地層のように見えることで知識の積み重ねを表現。知識を積む場である山寺をモチーフに、コロコロコミックを樹脂で固めて制作している。

Kado creates stereotypical “objects” from materials at hand, or adds entirely different elements to ready-made items, allowing new meanings to emerge as signs. By assembling objects like puzzle pieces, he skillfully shifts their original functions and meanings, generating surprising new interpretations.
His practice spans a wide range of scales, from furniture sprouting plants to installations combining bouldering and Japanese rock gardens.

In this work, CoroCoro Comic is regarded as a mass of knowledge for children. The accumulation of its colorful pages resembles geological strata, symbolizing the layering of knowledge. Taking Yamadera—a place of learning and spiritual cultivation—as its motif, the artist solidifies the magazines with resin to create the piece.
