米国シカゴ生まれ。イギリスと日本を拠点に活動。2020年、Royal College of Art修士課程修了。

主な展覧会に「森の芸術祭 晴れの国・岡山」（2024）、「百年後芸術祭-内房総アートフェス-」（2024）、「Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2021」（ロンドン、South London Galleryほか、2021）、「沈んだ世界のアンカー」（東京、スパイラルホール、2019）、「生きられた庭」（京都府立植物園、2019）など。

また、映画監督としての「トロント国際映画祭」（2025）への正式出品や、ポップス名義「.jvkn」（2024-）の始動は、ハイアートとマスカルチャーを並列な生存のための言語として扱う作家の姿勢を体現している。

多文化的な背景における異邦人としての原体験と、インターネット黎明期における匿名的なコミュニケーションへの没入を起点に、制度化されたアイデンティティからの解放と、新たな個の確立を探求する。 サイバネティクス的な思想を継承し、有機物と無機物、およびそれらの個と集団を不可分なネットワークとして提示する。

Born in Chicago, USA. Lives and works in the UK and Japan. He holds an MA from the Royal College of Art (2020).

Selected exhibitions include “Forest Festival of the Arts Okayama” (Okayama, Japan, 2024), “100-Year-Art Festival – Uchibo Art Fes” (Chiba, Japan, 2024), “Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2021” (South London Gallery, London, UK, 2021), “The Drowned World Anchor” (Spiral Hall, Tokyo, Japan, 2019), and “Le Jardin Convivial” (Kyoto Botanical Gardens, Kyoto, Japan, 2019).

Furthermore, his interdisciplinary practice extends beyond the gallery; his official selection for the “Toronto International Film Festival” (2025) as a filmmaker and the launch of his pop music project “.jvkn” (2024–) embody his approach of treating both high art and mass culture as equivalent languages for survival.

Drawing from his formative experience as an outsider within a multicultural environment and his immersion in the anonymous communication of the early internet era, Tateisi explores the liberation from institutionalized identities and the establishment of a new, autonomous self. Inheriting the lineage of cybernetic thought, he posits organic and inorganic matter—as well as their individual and collective entities—as an indivisible network.
