1997年、兵庫県生まれ。2024年、京都芸術大学大学院美術工芸領域油画専攻修了。

私は完成図や最終形態を事前に決めずに788×1091mmサイズの模造紙にドローイングをする。はじめに城を描いていたら城に渡る門と門番を描きたくなって、描いていたら大阪城の堀みたいに城の周りに川が流れているんじゃないかと思って山から海へ向かう川を城の前に描いて、それを見ていたら門以外のところから侵入する悪者がいるんじゃないかと思って山と海からサメが群れを成して泳いでいる様子を描いて…と、A4の紙に描いていたらはみ出してしまうようなことを大きな模造紙に描いている。実際小さなメガネや動物などの絵が所狭しとある場合がほとんどだが、すべての絵が城から流れ出した海の中にある。頭の中をそのまま模造紙に置き換えることで、絵のすべてが見えない線で繋がっている。その模造紙の中からひと区画を取り出して、キャンバスに移植する。そして、私がキャンバスに描く行為を繰り返すことで絵が変遷していく。手繋ぎシリーズはドローイングから生まれて、キャンバスに描く行為を繰り返すことで絵の具の重ね方や色の合わせ方を何度も試すことになる。ドトールおっさんシリーズもドローイングから生まれて、キャンバスに描く行為を繰り返すことで街の様子の解像度が少しずつ上がっていく。トケイソウシリーズもドローイングから生まれて、何度も描くことでいろんな色の時計が生まれていく。そこからまた、ドローイングに情報がアップデートされる。私の絵を描く行為とは、その繰り返しである。

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1997. Completed the Master’s program in Oil Painting in the Department of Fine Arts and Crafts at Kyoto University of the Arts in 2024.

I draw on 788 × 1091 mm sheets of drawing paper without deciding on a final design or form in advance. For example, I might start by drawing a castle, then feel the urge to add a gate leading to it and a gatekeeper. As I’m drawing them, I might think, “Maybe there’s a river flowing around the castle, like the moat at Osaka Castle,” so I’ll draw a river flowing from the mountains to the sea in front of the castle. Then, looking at that, I might wonder, “What if villains try to invade from somewhere other than the gate?” and end up drawing schools of sharks swimming from the mountains and the sea… and so on. I’m drawing things on this large sheet of paper that would spill over the edges if I were to draw them on A4 paper. In reality, the paper is almost always crammed with small drawings of things like glasses and animals, but every single one of these images exists within the ocean that flows out from the castle. By transposing the contents of my mind directly onto the large sheet of paper, all the images are connected by invisible lines. I then extract a single section from that sheet and transplant it onto a canvas. And as I repeat the act of painting on the canvas, the artwork undergoes a transformation. The “Hand-in-Hand” series originated from drawings, and by repeatedly painting on canvas, I experiment time and again with how to layer paint and blend colors. The “Doutor Old Man” series also originated from drawings, and by repeatedly painting on canvas, the resolution of the cityscapes gradually increases. The “Passion Flower” series also originated from drawings, and through repeated painting, clocks in various colors emerge. From there, the information is updated back into the drawings. My act of painting is this very repetition.
