xorium［エクソリウム］は、2017年に竹川 諒と中村 慎吾により結成されたアーティストコレクティブ。映像、機械装置、光、センサー、制御技術などを横断し、立体作品や空間演出を制作している。身の回りに存在する人・物・環境・社会構造が相互に作用し、絶えず変化していく中で、その関係の狭間に生じる現象や違和感、認識の揺らぎを捉え、作品として再構成する。

中村 慎吾：1989年9月19日生。滋賀県出身。龍谷大学理工学部卒。
竹川諒 ：1989年2月10日生。熊本県出身。京都精華大学デザイン学部卒。

代表作に、ディスプレイが無数の光ファイバーで有機的に拡張された《Fibura》、霧と光を用いて、風景や気配を可視化するインスタレーション《TERRA》などがあり、近年はホテルや公共空間での常設展示、芸術祭での演出、展示空間そのものを体験へと変換する表現を展開している。作品では、自然物と人工物、実体と情報といった異なる要素を重ね合わせ、作家の生活の中に存在する多面的な現象を表現している。緻密な設計と偶発的な変化を併存させることで、鑑賞者が作品の前に立つ時間や距離、環境の変化によって見え方が更新される余白をつくり出す。技術を単なる演出手段ではなく、不可視の関係性を立ち上げるための媒体として扱い、観る者の身体感覚や記憶に静かに干渉する作品を目指している。

xorium is an artist collective formed in 2017 by Ryo Takekawa and Shingo Nakamura. Working across video, mechanical devices, light, sensors, and control technologies, the collective creates sculptural works and spatial installations. As people, objects, environments, and social structures interact and continually transform in everyday life, xorium interprets the phenomena, subtle discomforts, and shifts in perception that emerge between these relationships, reconstructing them as artworks.

Shingo Nakamura: Born on 19 September 1989. From Shiga Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Ryukoku University.

Ryo Takekawa: Born on 10 February 1989. From Kumamoto Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Design at Kyoto Seika University.

Their representative works include *Fibura*, in which a display is organically extended through countless optical fibers, and *TERRA*, an installation that visualizes landscapes and intangible atmospheres through mist and light. In recent years, xorium has expanded its practice to permanent installations in hotels and public spaces, artistic direction for festivals, and expressions that transform exhibition spaces themselves into experiential environments. Their works layer contrasting elements such as the natural and the artificial, the physical and the informational, expressing the multifaceted phenomena that exist within the artists’ daily lives. By allowing precise design and accidental change to coexist, xorium creates room for the appearance of a work to shift according to the viewer’s time, distance, and surrounding environment. Rather than treating technology merely as a means of presentation, the collective uses it as a medium for bringing invisible relationships into being, aiming to create works that quietly interfere with the viewer’s bodily sensations and memories.
