消費の象徴であるバーコードを作品の主役にすることでクリエイティブの消費へのアンチテーゼ、皮肉を世の中に発信していきます。
Through his paintings, Hiroki Niimi critically considers the situation of today’ s digitalized society,
where “creativity” is produced and consumed in a rapid span of time.The many creative images that are neglected after used in advertising.
Niimi picks up discarded images, transforms them into paintings, the analog art form media,
and presents them with a new prospective.
Niimi symbolically quotes consumed creativity and incorporatesit into his work while remaining focused on materiality. His work is an affirmation of
creativity itself while it is also a warning and a form of rebellion against the modern world that
repeats the cycle of production and consumption at a tremendous speed.
